What is a Ground Source Heat Pump?
What is a Ground Source Heat Pump?
A Ground Source Heat Pump uses a network of pipes laid in the ground, these can be horizontal or vertical depending on the space available. A fluid flowing through the pipes picks up the warmth from the ground and takes this back to the heat pump. This in turn boosts the heat to a usable temperature for heating and hot water.
It is rather like a fridge in reverse. Although a Ground Source Heat Pump is ideally suited to underfloor heating, a radiator system correctly sized is just as efficient. The team at REN have vast experience with all types of Ground Source Heat Pumps and would welcome a call to talk through your project
